Ideas to raise money

• Have a quiz night at the school, pub, church, local village hall etc.

•  Organise a 'KrispyKreme' Tea - Kripsy Kreme will provide doughnuts at cost price. You can either charge an entry fee or make money by having a raffle.

•  Ask your company, church, mosque, temple, synagogue, Rotary group, school or sports club to select us as their Charity of the Year. Our Ambassador Janice would be happy to give a talk to your group and provide you with lots of information about Watford Mencap. To contact her please email jjones@watfordmencap.org.uk

•  Open Garden - open your garden to visitors. Charge an entry fee, sell refreshments and plants, have a raffle.

•  Sponsored Challenge - ask your friends and family to sponsor you to take up a challenge. It could be a bike ride, a sponsored slim, a head shave or an abseil! To find out more about pre-organised challenges click here. To set up a Watford Mencap Just Giving page for your challenge click here.

•  Wine Tasting - ask a local off-licence to support your goal of raising money for Watford Mencap. Invite your friends, have a raffle and enjoy the evening..

• Lead a walk/ramble - this could be to a place of historic interest or a scenic route to take in beautiful sights. Ask people to raise sponsorship or pay an entry fee.

• Car Boot Sale/Jumble - ask people to donate their goods and raise as much money as you can - use a local car park or your driveway.

• Book Sale - ask people to donate their unwanted books and have a book sale. Or let us have your books so that we can sell them on Amazon. Hard back books are particularly welcome. Contact Rose on 01923 713627.

• Mobile Phones - Watford Mencap recycles unwanted mobile phones - make sure you don't throw yours away and drop them into the office instead! Contact Rose on 01923 713 627.

• eBay - if you're selling something on eBay, please donate a percentage to Watford Mencap - anything from 10% can be donated. Or hold an Ebay collection day at work collecting goods for us to sell. Contact Rose on 01923 713 627.

• Tell people about us The more people who know about Watford Mencap, the more people will fundraise for us. We need funds to keep our services going, so let people know you support us!
