Victorian Evening success

On Friday, 26th November, staff and volunteers from Watford Mencap braved the cold weather to join in the annual Rickmansworth Victorian evening. By selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts, Jewellery, Cards and by having a sweet tombola, the team of 10 managed to raise over £400.

 Sarah Maling, Fundraiser at Watford Mencap, commented;

‘We started the day with 480 doughnuts and were determined to have none left at the end of the evening. We managed to sell the last box shortly before 9pm. Thank you to everyone that choose to support Watford Mencap ’

 The money raised from this event will go towards Watford Mencap Children’s Centre on St Albans Road. The centre provides support and care for children with a learning disability whilst also providing much needed respite for their parents

 The Watford Mencap team were not only fundraising on the evening, but also providing tours of their new office on the high street. The office has recently become the first place in Hertfordshire to have a fully accessible Changing Places toilet fitted.
