New chance to learn online

Watford Mencap has launched its Personalisation E-Learning and Information Centre in Rickmansworth. This centre will provide training and development materials, helping social care organisations create new styles of personalised services.

The Centre has been funded by Hertfordshire County Council, with online courses provided by the Charity Learning Consortium and Embrace Learning.

Hertfordshire social care staff now have free access to independent-learning opportunities.

‘We know how much difference individually tailored services make to people’s lives,’ commented Kathryn White, Watford Mencap’s Development Manager. ‘Staff need to have the right skills to make the change.’

The Watford Mencap Centre, a Personalisation One-Stop Shop, includes:

  • ‘Drop in’ IT Suite with adaptive equipment
  • Information Library
  • Remote online access to Personalisation Core Skills E-learning training and development programme
  • Virtual Discussion Forum

If you want to use these facilities email personalisation@watfordmencap.org.uk or telephone 01923 713620.

The Centre is at Watford Mencap, The Old Town Hall, 105 High Street, Rickmansworth, WD3 1AN.
