Watford Mencap Achieves Ebay Top-Rated Seller Status

Watford Mencap received a welcome New Year present when Ebay told them they had achieved Top-Rated Seller status. This means that Watford Mencap has very high ratings for communicating with buyers promptly and truthfully, making reasonable postage and packing charges and being helpful, friendly and professional.

‘We are over the moon at achieving this standard,’ commented Rose Kreloff, Watford Mencap’s Trading Manager. ‘In 2011 Watford Mencap raised in excess of £8,500 by selling donated goods on Ebay. Every £45 we raise can pay for another child with learning disabilities to attend our AfterSchool Club so this means our trading activities have funded nearly 190 sessions – nearly a whole year’s attendance for 4 children. This gives them the same chances as non-disabled children to make friends and have fun.’

Watford Mencap welcomes all donations of saleable goods at its offices at 105 High Street, Rickmansworth, particularly bric-a-brac and china, all textiles, shoes, bags and belts, PC games and books. The items do not have to be new as used clothing and textiles can be sent to be recycled for cash. You can also drop them in at their shops: 250 St Albans Road, Watford or 36 High Street, Bushey.

With our Ebay business growing larger every day, we encounter the need for more and more volunteers. Do you feel that you could lend a hand and spare a couple of hours to help Watford Mencap raise funds? If you are computer literate, accurate and organised; if you have an interest in fashion and collectables, you could be exactly who we need!
