Church's Toy Service Benefits Watford Mencap

On Sunday 9th December Bushey and Oxhey Methodist Church held their annual Advent Parade and Toy Service. Every year the local Scouts, Cubs and Brownies attend this special service and bring gifts of toys for children supported by a local charity. This year the church supported Watford Mencap’s Children’s Centre.

During the service the Reverend Geoffrey Farrar invited Julie Dunster from Watford Mencap to give a short talk on Watford Mencap’s work with local children with learning disabilities. This was well received and followed by the children bringing up their gifts and placing them around the Christmas tree.

At the end of the service Julie said “I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the children and congregation. These toys will make such a difference to the children we support. Thank you so much.”
