our new home
We are delighted to share some news with you, which we hope willl brighten your day. We are certainly very excited about it.
Since July last year, we have been quietly working on an exciting new project and have now purchased a lovely listed building with fantastic garden in Langley Road in Watford.
This beautiful building gives our services permanent security and the opportunity to expand to meet the needs of the growing number of children, young people and adults with learning disabilties and their families living in our community.
We held consultation sessions last year with people who have a learning disability to find out what facilities they'd like to see at a new Watford Mencap building. We are delighted to say that thsi new building will facilitate most of these ideas and activities.
Over the next months, we will completely transform the building into a Watford Mencap community hub, with specialist facilities that will become the home for our services and Head Office.
Our sincere thanks go to Watford Borough Council and the NHS who have worked with us to secure the site and to our wonderful corporate supporters who have so generously advised and guided us on this project and continue to do so as we develop the property. Our many thanks also go to Charity Bank who believed in our vision and have supported our purchase.
